Anxiety/Panic Attacks

​​There are several types of anxiety disorders:

Depression

 Symptoms of Depression include:

  • Sad or angry mood

  • Appetite and/or sleep issues

  • Lack of energy, pleasure and motivation

  • Feelings of helplessness and/or guilt

  • Concentation and/or memory issues

  • Thoughts that life is not worth living and/or suicidal thoughts

Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar disorder is an episodic illness consisting of high and low moods.

Symptoms of Bipolar disorder include:​

  • Euphoric or irritable mood

  • Risk taking activities and/or shopping sprees

  • Over confidence

  • Concentration issues

  • Lack of sleep and high energy

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

PTSD is a specific form of anxiety disorder that develops after someone experiences traumatic event.

The symptoms include:

  • Nightmares

  • Intrusive thoughts/Re-experiencing of event 

  • Difficulty remembering details of event

  • Sad/irritable mood

  • Anxiety/panic attacks

ADHA/ADD

ADHD is a chronic condition that often starts during childhood, though it may remain undiagnosed until adulthood.

It includes the following symptoms:

  • Hyperactivity

  • Short attention span

  • Procrastination

  • Impulsiveness

  • Fidgeting

  • Disorganization

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

OCD involves a cycle of intrusive thoughts and repetitive behaviors that significantly disrupt daily functioning.

It includes the following symptoms:

  • Checking and rechecking behaviors

  • Intense fear of contamination

  • Symmetry and order

  • Counting or other rituals

  • Intrusive thoughts that can be violent

  • Excessive cleaning or washing

Insomnia

Insomnia is a common sleep disorder which may include:

  • Difficulty going to sleep

  • Difficulty staying asleep

  • Early morning awakening

  • Tiredness during the day

  • Negative effects on mood

Women's Mental Health

Mental Health Issues Unique to Women:​
